Our special education group consists of compassionate skilled attorneys committed to providing advice and assistance to those who have disabilities identified as eligible for special education services or those who are struggling at school and are entitled to receive the appropriate individualized plans.

Special education is the education of students with special needs. “Special needs” may include challenges with learning, emotional and behavioral disorders, communication challenges, physical disabilities, and developmental disorders. Such disabilities, disorders or impairments may include:

  • Learning disabilities and processing disorders affecting math, reading, or writing
  • Speech and language deficits
  • Autistic spectrum, PDD, Asperger’s, Tourette’s Syndrome, seizure disorders
  • Emotional disorders and behavioral issues including ADHD, mood disorders, etc.
  • Physical disabilities, chronic illnesses, traumatic brain injuries, mental retardation
  • Visual or hearing impairment

Every child is unique and develops at his or her own pace. From infancy to adulthood, every stage brings new challenges. If your child with special needs is not progressing in school because they are not receiving the appropriate educational services from your school district, we can help develop a plan so that your child receives the appropriate services that the school district is required by law to provide. The following is a list of those services:

  • Requesting an evaluation or an Individualized Education Plan (“IEP”) meeting
